The Cape Cod Cooperative Extension runs a Horticulture Clinic that provides unbiased, research-based information for all your horticulture and gardening questions.

The Clinic offers diagnostic services free of charge, including plant disease information and plant identification. Proper identification also includes research based information regarding management if necessary. The Clinic also offers free soil testing services to determine pH levels.

Trained Master Gardeners are available to answer your horticulture questions via email or phone. Submit your question to gardeners@capecod.gov or call the Clinic: (508) 375-6700.

Diagnostic Assistance

When emailing questions that involve the identification of insects, plants, weeds, diseases or even a mystery problem, include high quality photographs with your submission so we can make a conclusive diagnosis. For guidelines on how to take effective photographs and how to collect samples see the links below.

You may also drop off plant samples at the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension office at 1358 Route 28, S. Yarmouth. There is a large black mailbox outside the door in the main parking lot. Please be sure your sample is clearly marked with your name and any pertinent information and complete one of the Diagnostic Forms (found below the mailbox).
