Join Us for Backyard Horticulture
Every winter we offer a course titled “Backyard Horticulture” to the general public. The presentations are given by experienced Master Gardeners or County Extension professionals and they cover a wide variety of topics. For example: Soil, Composting, Injury Prevention, Pollinators, Seed Starting, Annuals & Perennials, Pruning, Vegetable Gardening, Natives and Invasives, Pest Management, Sustainable Turf, Garden Design, and more. The classes meet for 8 weeks and each session is approximately 3 hours, with two or three separate speakers. The fee is $80.
There are two locations for Backyard Horticulture. The Barnstable class will be held on Thursday afternoons (1 - 4:15 pm) in the Harborview Room at the County Complex in Barnstable Village. The Harwich class will be held on Friday afternoons (1 - 4:30 pm) at the Harwich Community Center. These are completely separate courses with separate enrollments. Choose the one that is most convenient for you. Enrollment in both classes is limited.
